- What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?
A spinal adjustment is a type of non-invasive, pain-free, “tuning” of the spine that is applied by our Chiropractor, Dr. Betsy Case-Luca. These adjustments will help correct the positioning of your misaligned vertebra (subluxations) by restoring movement and position in your skeletal system.
- How does a spinal adjustment help me?
Chiropractic (spinal) adjustments are used to help eliminate pain, reduce nerve pain and irritability, and align your spine. They also may help reduce muscle spasms and increase your range of motion. When your spine is in proper alignment, it reduces nerve irritability so your immune system and body functions are optimized.
Regular chiropractic adjustments can help relieve the spine of pressure that may be causing spinal dysfunctions and back pain. These misalignments “subluxations” may also be resulting in other painful symptoms- such as back or neck pain, headaches, sciatica, or a pinched nerve.
- How do I get adjusted?
There are many techniques when chiropractic adjustments are applied to the spine. Usually the Chiropractor's hands (manual adjustment) or a specially designed instrument delivers a brief and highly accurate thrust. Most adjusting methods are quick, whereas others may require a little more slow and constant pressure.
